Job Overview:

CDL Delivery Driver

Position Overview

The CDL Delivery Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, unloading, and delivering products to customer locations in a safe, efficient, courteous, and timely manner. The Driver will operate straight trucks or tractor-trailers while following all applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations, OSHA requirements, and company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely load, secure, and transport products using material handling equipment such as forklifts and power jacks.
  • Drive assigned delivery routes safely while maintaining awareness of weather, traffic, and road conditions to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Unload and deliver products into customer facilities, placing items in designated areas using material handling equipment and manual methods.
  • Remove delivery packing materials and maintain a clean and organized delivery area.
  • Process customer pick-ups and returns, complete required paperwork, and ensure returned products are maintained in their original condition.
  • Obtain customer signatures on invoices and collect payments when required.
  • Accurately document driving hours, work/rest periods, mileage, fuel, tolls, and other required daily Driver paperwork.
  • Provide professional customer service and build strong customer relationships through courteous and professional interactions.
  • Communicate delivery issues, customer inquiries, and other concerns with Transportation, Sales, Customer Care, and Accounting teams.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety while operating vehicles, handling products, and completing deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, regularly check fluid levels, and immediately report vehicle damage or equipment concerns to management.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately complete required documentation.
  • Strong organization, listening, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage delivery responsibilities effectively.
  • Professional attitude, reliable attendance, and flexible availability.
  • Ability to travel overnight when necessary.
  • Reliable transportation.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid, unexpired CDL License — Class B for straight trucks or Class A for tractor-trailers.
  • Minimum of 2 years of safe driving history, verified through a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening, including random testing.
  • Must obtain and maintain required DOT Medical Certification.
  • Must be trained and certified in liftgate operation, forklift, and power jack use.
  • Must comply with all applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Must comply with all applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations.

You should be proficient in:

  • DOT Medical Card
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)
  • Current CDL License
  • DOT & Equipment Inspection Compliance
