Rogers Group is currently seeking a Category Manager: Fixed Plant in the Nashville area, reporting directly to the Director of Strategic Sourcing. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to develop, implement, communicate, and execute strategic sourcing strategies with assigned categories.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential suppliers and industry trends.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and assess market conditions to inform sourcing decisions.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with standards.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
- Work to establish long-term relationships while ensuring competitive pricing.
- Manage the procurement process from purchase requisition to order placement and delivery.
- Monitor order status and resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for reducing costs.
- Assess and manage risks associated with supplier relationships and market fluctuations.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations.
- Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in procurement and sourcing.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain organized records of supplier contracts, purchase orders, and related documentation.
- Input and maintain procurement data in relevant systems or databases.
- Assist in tracking and updating supplier information and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience is required.
- 5 or more years of experience in heavy industrial or material handling sourcing is required.
- Must have experience with commodities including crushers parts, conveyor systems, industrial supplies, electrical equipment, pumps, etc.
- Experience with key fixed categories is preferred.
- Strong track record working cross-functionally and aligning business partners to accomplish objectives.
- Excel experience is required including use of pivot tables, slicers, lookups.
- PowerBi and Wands for Excel are a plus.
- 30% travel required including overnight travel.
