Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Category Specialist will play a crucial role in the support and management of all interior maintenance activities for our retail locations throughout the United States and Canada. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of interior spaces, including but not limited to, flooring, fixtures, lighting, and general upkeep. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent organizational skills, and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of retail environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to ensure all interior maintenance tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
  • Oversee routine inspections and identify areas requiring maintenance or repair.
  • Coordinate with local maintenance teams and external vendors to execute maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure vendors adhere to agreed terms, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues or concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Develop and implement a strategic maintenance plan that aligns with the company’s long-term goals and objectives. Create a 3-year outlook on the life cycle for all maintenance equipment, identifying key milestones, potential risk, and necessary interventions.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Certificate(s) or License(s):
  • Years of experience: 3-5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance management, preferably in a retail environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel as needed to retail locations in the US and Canada.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly: Computer Work, walking, sitting
  • Occasionally: Standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
