Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractor that provides leadership for complex commercial building projects. We are currently accepting applications for Apprentice Carpenters wanting to advance their construction careers. While you do not need prior experience, you must have some training with power and hand tools. You will work under the supervision of a journeyman carpenter, assisting them in their duties while you train and gain a better understanding of your trade. An apprenticeship with our organization entails several years of on-the-job training and classroom instruction before completion. Experience in residential or commercial construction is beneficial, especially in areas like door and hardware installation, as well as concrete experience.
Apprentice Carpenter Duties and Responsibilities
Assist a Journeyman Carpenter with construction and remodeling projects
Help build structures
Learn and practice essential carpentry skills on the job
Attend courses on carpentry
Maintain a safe work environment
Set up and maintain tools for your supervising carpenter
Apprentice Carpenter Requirements and Qualifications
Good communication skills
Familiarity with common power and hand tools
Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions.
