Job Overview:

Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractor that provides leadership for complex commercial building projects. We are currently accepting applications for seasoned Carpenters wanting to advance their construction careers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices as well as a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures and safety requirements associated with commercial building.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Installation of doors; drill and set door hardware
• Installation of windows
• Layout for stairs and common rafters
• Read blueprints, utilize appropriate math skills and perform layout
• Form and place concrete footings, piers, walls and columns
• Pump, place and finish techniques
• Placement of concrete, slab on grade and elevated decks
• Crane signals and rigging
• Effectively communicate and understand both verbal and written instructions
• Ability to organize, sequence and perform assigned tasks within schedule

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of five years’ experience in all phases of commercial construction
• Candidates must have transportation and good communication skills
• Be willing to work within a 50 mile radius
• Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions

Pay: $20.00-$31.00/HR based on qualifications and experience.

Job Summary:

The Rental Division is looking for a high energy, self- starting Service Technician to join our growing team. This individual will have the ability to perform and execute the following tasks:

  • General maintenance and repair to company equipment & facilities
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs both in the shop and in the field
  • Maintain an adequate parts inventory to meet demands while limiting the risk of dead stock
  • Occasional delivery/ pickup of parts and equipment
  • Maintain tagging process for tools & equipment returned from rent by cleaning, testing, and inspecting them for rent readiness
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on tools & equipment as necessary by tracking hours of usage
  • Comprehension and Utilization of Telematics systems to proactively maintain and respond to equipment needs
  • Creating workshop orders on the computer and tracking trends of equipment 
  • Assist with quarterly inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management 

Qualifications:

  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics in the following areas:
    • Hydraulic systems and schematics
    • Electrical systems and schematics
    • Combustible engines and electric motors
    • Mechanical systems
    • Comfortable with technology and adaptable to change
    • AWP and RT forklift experience
    • Problem solver who works well independently but values the importance of contributing to the team effort
    • Crane experience a plus

Requirements:

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license & a good driving record
  • Possess mechanic tools & diagnostic equipment to analyze and complete complex repairs
  • Complete proper OEM repairs without sacrificing safety devices or impact to longevity of equipment
  • Proficient in the lock out/ tag out protocol
  • Ability to travel within multiple job sites/locations
  • Willingness to work non routine hours as needed

Abilities:

  • Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities
  • Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 75lbs., seeing and reading
