Cargo Trailer Production Assembler

SUMMARY

Responsible for performing various tasks on the production line in an enclosed trailer manufacturing facility.  Production Assemblers are needed to fill positions that perform the installation of plywood floors and walls, roofing material, sheet metal, doors, outside aluminum and associated trim.  Other tasks include installation of wire, lights, labels, etc. While performing these tasks, the incumbent must perform as a member of a team striving to accomplish the production standards in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. Incumbents are also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by his or her leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure work is done safely and meets established quality standards.

• Follow prescribed procedures and guidelines.

• Assemble items as instructed by production leadership.

• Keep work areas clean and organized.

• Provide the proper care of all equipment and facilities.

• Follow all company rules and policies.

• Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.

• Follow all safety rules and quality standards.

• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.

• Uphold all OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

• Clean-up work area daily.

Qualifications


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

• Experience or formal training in carpentry, sheet rock, or sheet metal work is desired.

• Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.

• Must be able to physically perform all duties including:

    • Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching frequently during the entire shift
    • Working from raised platforms or ladders
    • Lifting large sheets of aluminum
    • Installing large quantities of screws on each trailer with the use of electric screw guns.

• Must be able to work in a team environment, assisting one another in all processes.

• Experience and/or knowledge of production processes is desired.

• Ability to produce quality products consistently.

• Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.

• Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic.

• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to be at work on time.
