Overview

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, a global leader in chemical solutions for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, has an exciting opportunity at our Mesa, AZ facility for a Capital Equipment Manager!

This role will provide full responsibility and accountability for FUJIFILM Electronic Materials (FEUS) company wide capital equipment procurement here in the U.S. The Capital Equipment Manager leads all commercial aspects for procurement in sourcing non-material (MRO) services and capital equipment. This role requires strong understanding of technical and business requirements, business processes, strong business acumen and negotiation skills, ability to manage difficult people and situations, and dealing with ambiguity to successfully navigate across internal and external challenges.

The Capital Equipment Manager collaborates closely with Facilities, Engineering, Legal and Suppliers, establishes and executes RFI/RFP’s, negotiates with suppliers, establishes contracts, and collectively selects and awards contracts, in support of capital investments, and facility maintenance support services. The Capital Equipment Manager will identify and resolve issues with suppliers, provide strong internal leadership through timely communication, and manage and improve supplier performance to ensure goods and services are provided on-time and in-budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads FEUS-wide (AZ, RI) capital equipment procurement for expansions, construction, lab and manufacturing equipment, and preventative maintenance and service contracts.
• CAR liaison to facilities, legal, and stakeholders for competitive cost/benefit analysis and recommendations.  
• Participates in statement of work (SOW) including project-specific activities, deliverables and timelines for a supplier providing services.
• Leveraging a detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously.
• Developing bidders lists for all purchases, including pre-qualification and market research.
• Bidding, evaluating, and awarding capital equipment purchase orders in accordance with the project schedule.
• Leads RFI/RFP’s in an efficient and effective manner and projects objective, ethical and professional business acumen.
• Conducts supplier site visits and assesses supplier capabilities, experience, and know-how.
  • development of service and/or capital equipment schedules.
  • communicates internally and externally the service and/or capital equipment status, project plan updates, tracks closure and highlights next steps to keep project on target.
  • completes PO issuance, delivery of services and/or capital equipment, coordination and PO closure and supporting accurate invoicing/payment
  • development of negotiation strategies to secure competitive pricing, payment terms, favorable contract language, etc.
  • identification of second source options and implementation of competitive bid processes
• Escalates issues to Purchasing Manager and engages others as needed.
• Additional responsibilities of increasing scale as assigned by your manager

REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor’s degree in a business, supply or operations management, or equivalent project experience.
• 6 (six) plus years of experience in capital equipment purchasing for major manufacturing projects.
• Proficient in negotiating commercial terms & conditions and payment terms.
• Adept in supporting teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations.
• Computer skills required
  • SAP experience preferred
