This role will lead Cold Section Module Center’s Capital and Perishable Tooling organizations. We are seeking a leader with a strong technical background and the desire work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will lead a skilled cross-functional team to develop and pursue plans to sustain and improve manufacturing needs through the procurement and implementation of new technology. These efforts will include the relocation, installation, and support of new manufacturing equipment, financial planning, perishable supply chain management and close collaboration with the Manufacturing and Operations teams.

  • Lead a multi-level team consisting of a diverse group including Manufacturing Engineering, Project Engineering, Operations, & Facilities to implement sustainable capital strategies.
  • Ensuring that the capital and expense forecasts are consistent, and the risk and opportunities are well understood by all parties.
  • Analyzing individual Appropriation Requests, ensuring each project scope is reviewed to confirm compliance to company policy and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Analysis of actual trends and forecasts, and communicating those to senior leadership
  • Ensuring that the team understands and executes the Capital Annual Plan
  • Understanding of color of money compliance to determine appropriate funding source
  • Coordinating capital spend projections over the 5-year Long-Range Planning activities
  • Build sustainable strategy for management of perishable tooling to include new technology, cost savings, quality improvements and supply chain risk reduction.
  • Composing business cases and creating data metrics to review with Senior Leadership
  • Oversee Project Management for the installation of new or refurbished equipment
  • Drive Digital & Connected Factory Initiatives and implement across multiple sites.
  • Support Government audits and inquiries

A successful candidate will display the following:

  • A comprehensive understanding of industrial and manufacturing engineering
  • Project management and/or project estimating experience
  • Ability to effectively work in a challenging and fast paced environment. Self-starter with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong technical writing skills and analyze technical data
  • In depth understanding of continuous improvement principles and factory planning
  • Possess excellent judgement and professional maturity
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong computer skills and ability to decipher data and convey information

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field of study.
  • 10 years of professional experience in a related role. An advanced degree may be substituted for 3 years of experience.
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of or experience in contractor management
  • US citizenship required due to government contracts
  • Knowledge of or experience in machine tool selection & procurement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years overall operations experience; including engineering, operations, project management, or equivalent in a shop environment
  • Understanding of Capital processes and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface with a variety of levels of customers
  • Ability to effectively translate data into cohesive and concise stories with strong written and verbal skills
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and/or engineering lab equipment and Core Principals
