Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:

 This position supports our manufacturing and quality teams by managing and maintaining precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.) to ensure everything we produce meets strict quality standards. 

You don’t need prior calibration experience — but you do need good math skills, good organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that directly impacts product quality and customer satisfaction. 


With training, you will do the following:  

  • Coordinate and track calibration of measuring equipment 
  • Perform basic internal calibrations on simple gages 
  • Learn how to read blueprints and understand tolerances 
  • Maintain our electronic gage tracking system 
  • Support investigations if equipment is found out of tolerance 
  • Help set up gaging for production jobs 
  • Work closely with Quality and Operations teams 
  • Suggest improvements to strengthen quality and efficiency 

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Strong math skills 
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills 
  • Comfortable using Microsoft and other basic computer programs 
  • Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented 
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn 

Helpful, but not required:

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • Exposure to ISO, AS9100, or ISO 13485 environments

Environmental Conditions & Travel:

  • The employee is regularly exposed to an office and manufacturing environment with moderate noise. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments, such as safety glasses.  
  • Travel: Limited, less than 5%  
  • Some standing, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), and use of measuring equipment is required.
