About the Role:  We are looking for a Calibration Technician to join our Metrology Team in Elkton, Maryland.  In this role, you will effectively apply industrial metrology concepts in the completion of accurate measurement and test equipment calibrations. Support calibration activities across multiple plants located in the Eastern Cluster that are located within close proximity.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform calibrations of highly technical and complex manufacturing test equipment in both manufacturing and R&D environments (including working within cleanroom spaces)
  • Adjust measurement devices based on calibration results and other conditional findings and notify impacted parties
  • Compile and disseminate deviations, trends, etc. to functional stakeholders (e.g. Manufacturing, Engineering, Skilled Trades, and Supply Chain)
  • Work within an established ISO9001 certified quality system
  • Create and revise procedures and documents as required
  • Apply measurement science knowledge to diagnose and calibrate test and measurement equipment in the electrical, physical, dimensional, mechanical, environmental, and/or chemical disciplines to ensure measurement system integrity
Required Qualifications:
  • 2 year technical degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or similar discipline, or Military PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) training, or a minimum of 4 years of experience in calibration of industrial or laboratory equipment
  • ASQ CCT (American Society for Quality Certified Calibration Technician) Accreditation, or commitment to acquire CCT certification within 3 years of hire
  • Experience working within a quality system and/or a regulated business
  • Electro-mechanical proficiency in working with industrial and laboratory equipment (e.g. manufacturing equipment, logic control systems, pneumatics, mechanisms, and drives)
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for production and/or laboratory equipment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to adhere to detailed written procedures
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
  • Proficiency completing tasks both independently and as a team member, working toward established team goals
  • Ability to work overtime and/or off-shift hours to meet business needs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a cleanroom
  • Experience with uncertainty budgets, test uncertainty ratios, and test accuracy ratios
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001, ISO-13485, ISO-17025, ISO-10012, ANSI/NCSL-Z540, and/or related standards
