Job Overview:

Job Summary

This role focuses on the calibration and development of engine controls for North American and global markets. The engineer will perform engine calibration to meet emissions, fuel economy, power, drivability, and OBD targets while supporting vehicle testing, data analysis, technical reporting, and development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete engine calibration according to established procedures and development requirements

• Calibrate engine controls to meet emissions, fuel economy, power, drivability, and OBD targets

• Prepare and manage calibration and resource schedules to meet development deadlines

• Perform test preparation, data collection, and data analysis

• Create technical reports and communicate calibration results

• Build strong working relationships with calibration technicians

• Conduct vehicle testing and development under extreme environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and high-altitude conditions

• Perform software logic and value confirmation activities

• Complete required internal technical and driving training

• Investigate technical issues and develop effective technical solutions

• Support calibration activities for conventional and/or hybrid powertrains

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline

• 1+ year of experience in engine calibration

• Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory and practice

• Experience with engine calibration, including emission, bench, drivability, or OBD calibration

• Experience with conventional and/or hybrid powertrain systems

• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ programming languages

• Experience with Model-Based Design or calibration processes

• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Experience with project management tools

• Excellent driving record

Preferred / Additional Experience

• Experience calibrating engine controls for markets outside the U.S., such as Japan, Europe, or China

• Experience with programming languages such as Python or VBA

• Understanding of U.S. and international Emission and OBD regulations

• Experience working in a culturally diverse environment

• Experience with software logic and value confirmation activities

• Work involves both technical analysis and hands-on testing/development activities
