Position Overview
The Mechanical / Structural Designer will support Engineers and the Engineering Manager by independently providing 3D models, drawings, and equipment BOMs according to customer requirements. The role will support mechanical, piping, and structural scopes of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules while ensuring designs meet customer requirements and applicable industry standards.
The Mechanical / Structural Designer will also support service personnel in solving problems by simulating issues in drawings, work on simple Engineering Work Requests, and comply with all departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards.

Roles & Responsibilities
Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) with no supervision from Engineer (preferred).
Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and QA/QC standards.
Prepare and complete various Mechanical, Piping, Structural deliverable drawings and documents such as piping layout/general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping schedule, piping tie-point/interface drawings, piping insulation details, structural general arrangement drawings, structural weld details/notes, structural connection detail drawings, foundation support details, equipment mounting/support details, pipe support details, weight/COG reports, manual valve list, HVAC ducting, instrumentation, flow diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams, pump alignment drawings, handrails/ladders, walkways, and stairs as per OSHA, platform and grating detailed drawings, etc.
Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering/design firms.
Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards.
Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to Project/Client/Third Party, as required.
Provide “Lessons learned” feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and procedures.
Create and check drawings/designs, interface communication, and ensure the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of mechanical, piping, and structural scopes of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules.
Support service personnel in solving problems by simulating problems in drawings.
Work on simple Engineering Work Requests while complying with departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards.
Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and analysis of factual information.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical, piping, and structural scopes of work.
Ability to produce drawings and sketches to illustrate designs and ideas.
Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
Understanding of the purpose of electrical systems for facilities.
General knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments.
Experience preparing bulk MTOs and detailed BOMs independently without Engineer supervision.
Experience with engineering design outsourcing and third-party engineering/design firms.
