Job Overview:

Job Summary & Essential Functions

Perform cable assembly tasks for highly complex and critical end use applications. Perform high quality and detailed tasks ensuring high first pass yield and efficiency. 

  • Perform basic cable assembly process steps including such tasks as wire prep, wire stripping, crimping, routing, dressing, point-to-point cabinet wiring, clean-up and close out 
  • Build quality into the product – increase first pass yield, minimize rework and minimize scrap
  • Support process improvements and participate in actively providing solutions 
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area 
  • Operate a variety of equipment to fulfill manufacturing processes
  • Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
  • Set up and run of the cable automation equipment  
     

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print for simple assemblies
  • Ability to use basic hand and semi-automatic tools including, but not limited to: wire strippers, hand crimpers, applicators and presses, and pull tester
  • Able to build electronic assemblies and consoles to IPC-620 requirements 
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
  • Ability to manipulate and work with tedious and small parts
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
  • Ability to work in a high volume, high detail work environment 
     

Required Experience & Education 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant job experience required
