Job Summary & Essential Functions
Perform cable assembly tasks for highly complex and critical end use applications. Perform high quality and detailed tasks ensuring high first pass yield and efficiency.
- Perform basic cable assembly process steps including such tasks as wire prep, wire stripping, crimping, routing, dressing, point-to-point cabinet wiring, clean-up and close out
- Build quality into the product – increase first pass yield, minimize rework and minimize scrap
- Support process improvements and participate in actively providing solutions
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area
- Operate a variety of equipment to fulfill manufacturing processes
- Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
- Set up and run of the cable automation equipment
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print for simple assemblies
- Ability to use basic hand and semi-automatic tools including, but not limited to: wire strippers, hand crimpers, applicators and presses, and pull tester
- Able to build electronic assemblies and consoles to IPC-620 requirements
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
- Ability to manipulate and work with tedious and small parts
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
- Ability to work in a high volume, high detail work environment
Required Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of relevant job experience required
