Job Description

We are partnered with an established custom woodworking company who is seeking a skilled Woodworker / Cabinet Maker to join its team in Sarasota, Florida. This position is responsible for building, assembling, and installing custom cabinetry, millwork, built-ins, and furniture components for high-end residential and commercial projects.

The ideal candidate is experienced in woodworking techniques, enjoys hands-on craftsmanship, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products with exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble custom cabinets, built-ins, millwork, and furniture components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, veneers, laminates, and other materials.
• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Sand, prepare, and finish products to meet quality and appearance standards.
• Install cabinetry, trim, and millwork at project sites as needed.
• Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and craftsmanship.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality control standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, finish carpentry, or a related field.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings and blueprints.
• Experience operating woodworking equipment including table saws, routers, planers, jointers, sanders, and related tools.
• Strong mathematical and measuring skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Custom cabinet-making experience.
• Experience working with high-end residential projects.
• Knowledge of wood species, veneers, laminates, and finishing techniques.
• Installation experience.
• CNC experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working in a shop environment and occasionally at customer job sites.

Pay Rate: $22-$28/hour
