Buyer/Planner (Aerospace)

Responsibilities

• Manage materials planning, purchasing, and inventory levels to support production schedules
• Secure and analyze supplier quotations to support cost‑effective decision‑making
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
• Maintain budget awareness and support cost‑reduction initiatives
• Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply chain
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, documentation, or performance
• Communicate professionally with suppliers and customers regarding order status, lead times, and technical requirements
• Create and maintain detailed workflows, process documentation, and purchasing records
• Coordinate material availability with production planning to ensure on‑time delivery
• Support continuous improvement efforts in procurement and scheduling processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience in purchasing, planning, or supply‑chain coordination (aerospace strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and precision sheet‑metal fabrication
• Experience in the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in materials planning, purchasing, and inventory management
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
