Purpose

We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking Buyer to join our dynamic team. An experienced Buyer on the Lake Air Products team will manage the activities required for the purchasing, procuring, and controlling of raw materials, components, equipment, machinery, and supplies. This person will work closely with vendors to ensure constant deliveries, on-time with competitive pricing. This position will be fully on-site, with flexibility to be located in Roseville, Coon Rapids, or Vadnais Heights, MN. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders and bid requests using the internal ERP system.
• Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company policies and authorized limits.
• Issue purchase orders strategically to leverage product release spend.
• Coordinate with vendors to negotiate delivery dates that support customer schedules.
• Communicate purchasing issues that may impact delivery timelines to customer service, estimating, and manufacturing teams.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure availability, accuracy, and proper disposition of surplus materials.
• Partner with suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery information.
• Resolve quality issues by collaborating with vendors, quality assurance, and internal teams to implement corrective actions.
• Analyze inventory records to confirm material availability and recommend substitutions when appropriate.
• Support supplier audits to assess processes and ensure service capability.

Qualifications

• Previous procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to interpret metrics, financials, spend, and budgets
• Ability to develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships and partnerships.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and easily adapt to change.
• Working knowledge of ERP (Kinetic preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Lift objects up to 30 pounds throughout the day.
• 2 or 4 year degree in Business or related field, or directly related experience required.
