Körber Technologies, Inc., a Sales and Service Company serving the North American Tobacco Industry, has an outstanding career opportunity available for a Buyer to join our team. The Buyer has the mandate and is in charge of the execution and independent realisation of negotiations and procurement processes within the area of responsibility and in line with existing authorizations.

Your role in our team

  • You will execute orders to ensure materials and services are available on time
  • Select suppliers (with or without guidelines) within the assigned area of responsibility and in line with the strategy defined for the respective category (if available)
  • Conduct price and contract negotiations with conclusion of the contract in the assigned area of responsibility and within the suppliers intended for the product group or potential suppliers within the framework of the existing or to be formulated supplier or product group strategies
  • You will provide support in relation to complaints and complaint processes in the respective area of responsibility, initiation of necessary clarification, escalation and/ or corrective measures.
  • Actively involved with the category team as well as support of lead buyers (where one exists)
  • Provide support in relation to supplier evaluations in order to improve the transparency of supplier performance within their area of responsibility
  • You will manage data entry, maintenance of master data and overall document archiving in connection with procurement processes
  • Support inventory management in order to ensure a high delivery capacity with a minimum of inventory
  • Collaborate with purchasing controlling, e.g. in the estimation of potential, definition of targets, and analyses of opportunities/risks, to make the value contribution transparent and manage purchasing activities in a target-oriented manner

Your profile

  • You have completed an apprenticeship in a relevant field (e.g., Industrial Clerk) with a focus on purchasing, materials management, or a comparable qualification
  • Strong mechanical and technical understanding
  • Proven experience in purchasing and/or logistics
  • You are proficient in English (professional working proficiency)
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office and experience working with ERP systems
