UPF is the nation’s leader in the manufacture of plastic water tanks for the fire industry. In addition, UPF designs and manufactures a variety of products for industrial, transportation and marine customers. This position supports the organization's purchasing needs for two manufacturing locations in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

• Purchase raw materials/commodities at a reasonable cost to meet customer demands to ensure timely delivery to Production.
• Work with suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing, and material planning including reduced lead times, prevent excess inventory and increase inventory turns.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships. 
• Develop and maintain lean systems for Kanban and Point of Use supply to support daily, weekly, and monthly order requirements and inventory levels.
• Expedite material and part shortages to meet customer demand.
• Determine root cause of shortages and other supplier issues and implement corrective actions.
• Continuous  improvement to improve supplier relationships, seek suppliers that improve product quality, on-time performance and are cost competitive in accordance with product specifications.
• Compile data on measured department KPI’s.

Requirements

• Associate  degree and 2+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of      education and experience.
• Wellorganized and able to multitask, prioritize and problem-solve.
• Good communication and basic math skills.
• Can work with all levels of management.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel
• Support existing applications for Supply base management tools and recommend improvements
