Darigold is currently looking for Butter Operators for our Plant in Caldwell, ID

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Safe, efficient operation of a Filling machine (Bulk Packer)
  • Inspecting and monitoring the filling process ensuring proper equipment operation
  • Maintaining and monitoring any required inventory necessary to the Filling process
  • Maintaining organization of the work area and performing ongoing cleaning tasks in compliance with good manufacturing and warehouse practices
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing the Filler, Tanks, and Lines and as needed as well as other parts of the milk flow process
  • Assisting Maintenance members in routine maintenance and repairs
  • Collecting information and completing any required production reports accurately; maintaining any necessary paperwork in good order
  • Maintaining efficiency standards set for the operating area
  • Participating in any Caldwell Performance Program projects as may impact the Bulk filler
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Run butterfat and moisture samples for all machines in butter including Bulk Packer.
  • Run metal detection checks on a regular basis.
  • Relieve all retail machines for breaks as needed.
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 12 hours
  • Must be able to confidently traverse concrete and tile floors that may intermittently be wet with milk, water, or butter.
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs both expanded metal, catwalk, and surfaced
  • Must be able to wear PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, rubber steel toed boots, hearing protection, nitrile gloves, and cotton coveralls for the entire duration of the shift Rain gear during CIP
  • Must be able to wear full length cotton/ polyester pants and nylon/polyester shirt uniform for the duration of the shift.
  • Strong visual acuity, with or without corrective lens, allowing for the ability to verify small printing on the packaging for quality control and inventory management practices as well as perform titration testing based on color change detection as maybe needed
  • Must be able to operate powered and unpowered pallet jackets for the movement of pallets into position and filled pallets out into the warehouse
  • Must be capable to gain forklift operator certification and safely operate a forklift in tight quarters
  • Must be manually dexterous enough to handle and use a utility safety knife, open small plastic bottles, handle and use eye dropper, and write legibly
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds frequently, between floor level and chest level and above shoulder height
  • Ability to organize and analyze process problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to read and follow directions
  • Must be able to accurately perform basic math
  • Must be able to monitor and inspect product and equipment
  • Computer experience
  • Must be able to follow instructions with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year production experience preferred
