Job Overview:

Position Overview: The Business Segment Controller holds a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, including reporting, consolidations, budgeting, planning, and providing leadership within the business segment. Reporting directly to the CFO with a dotted line to the General Manager, this position acts as a liaison between operations, executive leadership, and corporate accounting finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire segment accounting process, including financial reporting, analysis, and contractual matters.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly closing and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to ensure financials accurately reflect business status and implement necessary controls for improved cost tracking and budgeting.
  • Identify financial risks and work with business teams to develop and implement mitigation plans.
  • Drive operational performance through partnership with business leaders, focusing on cost optimization, productivity, and inventory accuracy.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to maintain integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and practices in all business operations.
  • Provide Working Capital Management planning and reporting for the business unit, covering billing, collections, payables, and inventory.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial management roles.
  • Proficiency in reporting under US GAAP for US Parent Company.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present, influence, and collaborate effectively at the leadership level.
  • Strong analytical skills to drive informed decision-making.
