Job Overview:

Jacobs is currently interviewing TS/SCI w/Poly candidates for a Business Process Engineer- Software Team Lead.  The position supports our government customer in Linthicum, Maryland.




  • Management of software development team using Agile frameworks, principles, and practices.
  • Create and manage workflow processes using JIRA software development tool.
  • Manage Confluence workspace to document processes and promote collaboration.
  • Applies process improvement and engineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projects
  • Assists the Government with transitioning of existing project teams and the facilitation of project teams in the accomplishment of project activities and objectives
  • Performs activity and data modeling, developing modern business methods, identifying best practices, and creating and assessing performance measurements
  • Provides group facilitation, interviewing, training, and additional forms of knowledge transfer
  • Serves as key coordinator between multiple project teams to ensure enterprise- wide integration of re-engineering efforts



  • Active TS/SCI w/Poly with current polygraph
  • 10 years of process engineering experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT Engineering may be substituted for 4 years of experience
  • Experience applying business process engineering principles

Highly Desired:

  • Prior Project Management, Product Owner or Managing Software Development teams experience. 
  • Experience with Confluence, JIRA, Agile Processes


 Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment:
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel as needed. Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
