Job Overview:

Description

Helm is now hiring a Business Development Coordinator to drive our new business growth within the automotive and aftermarket sectors. This is not a typical "sales" role; it is a specialized position focused on high-level research, contact matrix development, and strategic door-opening. If you enjoy the "intel" side of business development—finding the right decision-makers, mapping complex organizational structures, and managing the early-stage funnel—this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Targeted Research: Deep-dive into decision-makers and organizational structures within targeted sectors (specifically Aftermarket and Aftersales) to identify new RNS (Retail Network Solutions) opportunities.
  • Matrix Management: Build and maintain a comprehensive matrix of contacts across multiple target organizations to ensure a systematic approach to outreach.
  • Funnel Management: Proactively manage the new business funnel, ensuring all leads are tracked and moving through the initial discovery phases.
  • Strategic Outreach: Schedule high-impact meetings and "open doors" for the leadership team to present new business solutions.
  • Administrative Support: Provide critical support for early-stage new business efforts, including documentation and coordination of initial proposal materials.

Requirements

 Must-Haves:

  • Analytical Skillset: You are a researcher at heart, experienced executing data-driven strategy and mapping.
  • Automotive Aftersales Exposure: A solid understanding of the aftersales or aftermarket services environment.
  • Location: Based in the Metro-Detroit area. This is a hybrid role operating out of our Plymouth, MI office.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Purchasing Background: Experience or familiarity with purchasing processes (specifically automotive OEM structures) is a significant advantage.
  • Market Knowledge: Familiarity with services contracts, consultants, and profitability metrics within the automotive aftermarket space.
