Business Analyst - Competitive Intelligence and Data Analytics

About the role

Our business analyst will build analytics capabilities applied to revenue-generating areas like markets and competitive analysis, new drug entrants, CRM efficiencies, and reimbursement strategies. They will work on customer segmentation, customer and patient journey mapping, market sizing, and forecasting. This person will be responsible for preparing and synthesizing data, generating insights and solutions, and documenting / communicating their processes. Individuals in this role must be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect with peers, internal collaborators and stakeholders, and external partners. Your commitment to understanding and translating both internal and external data into actionable insights will directly impact both neuromodulation and advanced circulatory support business results. Specifically, you will:

  • Assist in the design, execution, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative research and analytic methodologies to understand business trends and competitive environments

  • Act as a story-teller, synthesizing results from various sources of information in a clear and engaging way to provide holistic business recommendations

  • Communicate with both internal and external departments (sales, IT, communications/marketing, external data vendors and market research firms)

  • Create dashboards to inform the business of trends and changes in key metrics

  • Assist in the development of presentation materials for relevant projects and ad-hoc requests, customizing output for the needs of each client group

  • Identify growth opportunities across both hospitals and patients as well as specific segments within them

  • Utilize best practices for data and analysis documentation and automation

About You

  • A strong candidate does not necessarily need to have all of the following, and we encourage you to apply if you can bring other skills and perspectives to the table

  • An undergraduate or masters level understanding of information systems, business analytics, statistics, economics, or similar

  • Experience applying various analytical and modeling approaches to real world problems

  • A drive to translate business requests and needs into actionable insights

  • Proven history of strong oral and written communication, specifically experience writing documentation and summary reports of your approaches and findings

  • Passion for data and for working through complex details of data collection, processing, and transformations

  • Practical understanding of how data is turned into insights that enable key business processes

  • Experience with data cleaning, data visualization, scientific writing, and data communication

  • An eagerness to learn the medical device / healthcare industry perspective, and dive deep into the business context

  • Creative problem-solving skills and openness to learn new approaches and technologies

  • Excellent organizational, project / time management skills

  • Dashboarding experience with a preference for Qlik

  • Advanced skills with Excel and Power Point

  • Preferred experience in any of the following tools: R, Python, SQL
