Build Technician – JFK International Airport (Jamaica, Queens, NY)
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Build Technician to assemble, debug, and test workstations and custom equipment at JFK International Airport. You'll work from engineering drawings, sketches, and technical documentation with the ability to self-direct while collaborating with a broader build team. This is a project-based, on-site role requiring someone who can problem-solve on the fly and keep things moving.
What You'll Do
- Assemble components and systems to engineering drawings and technical specs
- Build, test, and validate equipment through the full build cycle
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed during assembly
- Troubleshoot and debug equipment issues in a timely manner
- Document redlines and changes directly on prints for job review
- Communicate issues and status updates to the Lead promptly
- Follow all company safety, security, and quality procedures
What You'll Need
- 3–7 years of automation or equipment build experience
- Working knowledge of fits, tolerances, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, pneumatic schematics, and verbal instructions
- Experience laying out, assembling, and debugging pneumatic systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a team-first mindset
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and U.S. passport (required)
- Authorized to work in the United States
