Nature of Work:

This position will function as game night engineering support for live studio productions, cloud control room and master control. Utilize a mature and robust infrastructure to process signal routing, IFB and Comms and network routing. Work and communicate closely with production staff to ensure a flawless broadcast.

 

Examples of work performed:

  • First line of broadcast and production engineering support for master control, live productions, studio control, edit suites, VOD, streaming, etc.
  • Knowledge of live production hardware and software including, but not limited to, large format routers, switchers, audio consoles, EVS, Chyron, EFP/studio cameras, and lighting systems
  • Repair, replace, configure, and upgrade hardware and software related to broadcast and production operations
  • Execute A/V and data signal routing and patching throughout the broadcast facility
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair issues related to broadcast and production systems in live studio and broadcast environment
  • Contribute to project implementations and build-outs
  • Ability to work any shift in support of a 24x7x365 broadcast environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • General office equipment to include phone, fax, computer/keyboard, copier, etc.
  • Meters, soldering equipment, lifts, ladders, power and hand tools, test and measurement equipment, etc.
  • Stand and lifting up to 4 hours, and 50 lbs.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum
    1. HS Diploma
    2. 2-4 years Television broadcast experience, specialized electronics training certification or degree in electronics or broadcasting
  • Preferred
    1. College Degree BA/BS Communications, Computer Science or similar
    2. Technology Certification
    3. 2-4 years studio or live TV production experience

 

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expertise in the principles, terminology, tools, and equipment utilized in television production/broadcast engineering
  • Understanding of IT systems and principles, primarily network security, storage management and policy, database management, and user account administration
  • Knowledge of automation systems related to network broadcast operations
  • Working knowledge of satellite uplink/downlink, transmission and conditional access systems
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to alter shifts/days to accommodate projects and departmental objectives
  • Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and concisely both written and verbally
  • Ability to troubleshoot, make rapid decisions, and execute resolutions quickly in dynamic situations

 

Compensation

  • Base $30/ hour
