We are currently seeking a Brand Manager to join our team in Norway, Iowa, located just 12 minutes south of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role’s key responsibility will be initiating and leading cross-functional teams in the execution of private label and innovation projects. They will participate in developing ideas, concepts and consumer research to validate concepts. Will work with other departments to understand cost inputs while evaluating pricing variables to provide recommendations for business proposals and new product business cases.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in development of strategic direction and annual plans for Private Label business.
  • Participates in building a marketing plan and ensures sales, gross margin, and contribution targets are achieved.
  • Understands target consumers, customers, competitive and product category environments and utilizes that insight to initiate recommendations in pricing and new business/new product opportunities.
  • Helps to build out product roadmaps for multiple brands, identifies high-potential opportunity spaces and product success criteria.
  • Works directly with Sales team and individual retailers to respond quickly to requested proposals.
  • Analyzes sales and profitability by customer and product line. Works with Sales teams and individual retailers to provide sales forecasts to planning department.
  • Leads business case development through approval to move projects forward.
  • Develops strong cross-functional relationships, particulary with product and package development, purchasing, operations, finance, sales and brand marketing teams
  • Operates sustainably and strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
  • Works safely at all times, follows safety policies and participates in trainings.
  • Reports injuries and near misses promptly; proposes corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in marketing, communications, sales, advertising, business administration, or related field; and 4 to 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret such items as highly detailed professional, scientific, and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from both inside and outside the company. Ability to write speeches, articles, or memo using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to such groups as top management, boards of directors, or the general public.

 

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS

 

Ability to comprehend the most complex financial principles. Ability to use a computer to create highly customized spreadsheets, charts and reports, presentations, and interpret data. Ability to analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements and apply information to make long-term, strategic decisions.
