Job Summary:
At Victaulic, we don’t just manufacture products—we shape the industry. We’re looking for a hands-on Production Manager to lead day-to-day operations in our fabrication environment. This role reports to the Senior Operations Manager – Fabrication or designee.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
Production Planning:
- Lead the development and execution of detailed production schedules aligned with customer demand and strategic business goals.
- Optimize resource allocation across labor, equipment, and materials to maximize throughput.
- Anticipate and resolve production challenges to keep operations on track and ahead of schedule.
Quality Control:
- Champion quality at every stage of production with robust standards and practices.
- Partner closely with Quality Assurance to identify gaps, drive corrective actions, and exceed customer expectations.
Team Management:
- Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing production team, fostering accountability and excellence.
- Promote a culture of respect, continuous learning, and operational discipline.
- Set clear expectations, deliver constructive feedback, and recognize exceptional performance.
Process Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, boost efficiency, and lower costs.
- Analyze bottlenecks and implement solutions that scale with growth.
- Embrace lean principles and foster a mindset of innovation and adaptability on the floor.
Safety Compliance:
- Drive a proactive safety culture through rigorous training, audits, and engagement.
- Ensure full compliance with safety protocols to protect employees and equipment.
Budget Management:
- Manage departmental budgets with a focus on cost control and ROI.
- Identify opportunities to reinvest in people, process, and technology without compromising quality.
Communication:
- Serve as the critical link between production and cross-functional teams including engineering, logistics, and sales.
- Keep senior leadership informed with clear, timely updates on performance, risks, and wins.
Reporting:
- Monitor and report on production KPIs, using data to drive strategy and accountability.
- Translate operational insights into actionable initiatives for continuous progress.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations, including safety, labor, and environmental standards.
- Stay ahead of industry requirements and proactively mitigate compliance risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading production operations in a complex, high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to inspire teams, develop talent, and deliver measurable results.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills with a bias for action.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and modern production systems.
- Experience implementing lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with production planning software and ERP systems.
- Strong command of safety and compliance practices.
- Highly organized, analytical, and focused under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
