Job Overview:

Location: Allegan, MI

Hiring Through: OnStaff USA on behalf of a local metal fabrication company

A well‑established metal fabrication company in Allegan is looking for an Experienced Brake Press Operator to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys independent setups, precision forming, and a steady day‑shift schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and operate hydraulic CNC press brakes, including tooling selection and adjustments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work orders
  • Form metal components to exact specifications across various materials and thicknesses
  • Inspect parts using calipers, protractors, gauges, and other precision tools
  • Troubleshoot forming issues and communicate quality concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Assist other fabrication departments as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Several years of hands‑on brake press experience in fabrication or manufacturing
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
  • Proven ability to perform setups and run production independently
  • Comfort working with tight tolerances and precision measurement tools
  • Reliable attendance and strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and metal debris

Schedule & Pay

  • 1st shift, 40 hours per week
  • Overtime as needed
  • Pay based on experience and skill level
