Hiring Through: OnStaff USA on behalf of a local metal fabrication company
A well‑established metal fabrication company in Allegan is looking for an Experienced Brake Press Operator to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys independent setups, precision forming, and a steady day‑shift schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate hydraulic CNC press brakes, including tooling selection and adjustments
- Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work orders
- Form metal components to exact specifications across various materials and thicknesses
- Inspect parts using calipers, protractors, gauges, and other precision tools
- Troubleshoot forming issues and communicate quality concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Assist other fabrication departments as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Several years of hands‑on brake press experience in fabrication or manufacturing
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Proven ability to perform setups and run production independently
- Comfort working with tight tolerances and precision measurement tools
- Reliable attendance and strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and metal debris
Schedule & Pay
- 1st shift, 40 hours per week
- Overtime as needed
- Pay based on experience and skill level
