Job Overview:

**POSITION OVERVIEW

**

Program, sets up, adjust and operate the press brake to perform a variety of forming, notching, bending, and punching operations on a diversified line of work.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

**

  • Program control as needed to perform required process.

  • Set dies and gauges and adjust ram stroke to form materials to proper angle to the capacity of the machine.

  • Determine sequence of multiple pass operations to make required bends on complicated sections.

  • Make set –ups for forming special shapes having single or compound radii and angle requirements.

  • Set-up fixed and adjustable punching dies and gauges for multiple and series punching.

  • Consistently perform work assignments at routed rates or as otherwise specified.

  • Inspect workmanship to specified procedures; comply with all quality system requirements; work is subject to secondary approval.

  • May perform set-ups for operation by others or provide instruction to others as directed by the Shop Supervisor.

  • Assist in problem solving with machines and other equipment as required.

  • At the direction of the Shop Supervisor, train and maintain training for at least one backup person to operate this machine.

  • Maintain a safe working environment; promote and follow safe work practices; maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition; comply with company safety policies.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS

**

High school diploma, G.E.D., or one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience as determined by the Shop Supervisor or Operations Manager; ability to read and interpret documents, drawings, manuals, etc.; capable of using simple measuring instruments; able to calculate simple mathematical equations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals;

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
