Boom Lift Operator

Pay: $20.00–$25.00/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

New Millennium Building Systems is seeking an experienced Boom Lift Operator to support a roofing crew with exterior building preparation and maintenance work. The primary responsibility will be safely operating a boom lift to access elevated areas of a commercial building while assisting with scraping and removing old paint in preparation for roofing work.

This is a safety-focused position requiring someone who is already comfortable working at heights and must know how to properly put on, adjust, and use a fall-protection harness before starting the job.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a boom lift/aerial lift to access elevated areas of the building.

• Use the boom lift to position yourself and crew members safely while performing elevated work.

• Assist with scraping, removing, and preparing painted surfaces on the exterior of the building.

• Properly wear and use a fall-protection harness while operating the boom lift.

• Must already know how to properly put on, adjust, connect, and use a safety harness.

• Complete required pre-operation inspections of the boom lift and safety equipment.

• Follow all company, OSHA, and jobsite safety procedures.

• Maintain awareness of overhead hazards, power lines, structures, other workers, and equipment.

• Communicate with ground personnel and crew members while positioning and operating the lift.

• Keep the work area clean and free of hazards.

• Work outdoors and comfortably at significant heights for extended periods.

• Follow directions from the roofing crew and supervisor to safely complete the work.

Qualifications

• Previous boom lift/aerial lift operating experience is required.

• Must be comfortable working at heights and operating equipment at elevated levels.

• Must have prior experience wearing and properly using a fall-protection harness.

• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of how to properly put on and secure a harness.

• Experience with roofing, commercial construction, building maintenance, painting, surface preparation, or similar work is preferred.

• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and fall protection.

• Must be comfortable working outdoors and performing physical labor.

• Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a crew.

• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
