Job Description

The Boiler Tear Down Technician is responsible for the hands-on disassembly, inspection, servicing, and reassembly of high- and low-pressure boiler systems. This position focuses on safely tearing down boiler equipment, identifying worn or damaged components, supporting necessary repairs, and rebuilding equipment for continued operation. The ideal candidate has direct experience working on both high-pressure and low-pressure boilers and is comfortable performing heavy mechanical work involving boiler components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complete and partial tear downs of high-pressure and low-pressure boiler systems.
• Disassemble boiler components and equipment for inspection, maintenance, and repair.
• Remove, inspect, clean, service, and reinstall boiler components during scheduled maintenance and repair activities.
• Inspect internal boiler components for wear, damage, deterioration, and other conditions requiring repair or replacement.
• Assist with determining repair requirements based on findings during boiler tear downs.
• Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement as required during boiler service.
• Reassemble boiler systems and components following maintenance or repair work.
• Support boiler shutdown, outage, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment to disassemble and reassemble boiler systems.
• Maintain organized work areas and properly handle removed boiler components during tear downs.
• Communicate equipment conditions, damaged components, and repair needs to appropriate personnel.
• Follow established safety procedures while working on high- and low-pressure boiler equipment.
• Complete assigned boiler tear down and rebuild work according to established procedures and schedules.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• Direct hands-on experience working with boiler systems.
• Experience performing boiler tear downs, disassembly, repair, or rebuild work.
• Experience working with both high-pressure and low-pressure boilers.
• Mechanical experience removing, inspecting, repairing, replacing, and reinstalling boiler components.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools in a mechanical maintenance or boiler service environment.
