Purpose of Position:

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods in Plover, Wisconsin is hiring Seasonal Boiler Room Relief Operators to support boiler room operations, utility monitoring, equipment inspections, sanitation, and operational support activities during pack season operations. Employees in these positions assist with monitoring boiler systems, maintaining utility operations, recording equipment readings, and supporting boiler room cleanliness and safe operation throughout the facility.

Work schedules during the season can be demanding and may include shifts of up to 12 hours per day, up to 6 days per week. Overtime is available after 40 hours worked in a week. Start dates, end dates, and schedules may vary depending on operational requirements and crop conditions.

Accountabilities:

Seasonal Boiler Room Relief Operators perform entry-level utility, boiler room, equipment monitoring, sanitation, and operational support duties in a food manufacturing environment. Employees in these positions assist Boiler Operators and Utility leadership with monitoring equipment conditions, maintaining operational support activities, recording equipment readings, supporting preventive maintenance activities, and helping ensure safe and efficient boiler room operations.

This role is intended to provide operational support and relief coverage within the utility department and does not perform duties at the full Boiler Operator or Crew Leader level. Employees may support boiler room operations during production, pre-pack, post-pack, and off-shift operational periods.

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist with monitoring boiler room equipment, steam systems, pumps, valves, water levels, gauges, and related utility systems
• Record and document equipment readings, operating conditions, and boiler log information
• Support Boiler Operators and Utility leadership with operational monitoring and utility department activities
• Assist with routine inspections of boilers and related utility equipment
• Support housekeeping, sanitation, and organization within boiler room and utility areas
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities, operational cleanup, or minor repair support as assigned
• Monitor work areas for unsafe conditions, leaks, equipment concerns, or operational deficiencies and report issues to leadership
• Follow GMP, food safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, and workplace safety requirements
• Assist with operational coverage and support activities during staffing shortages or production demands
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, equipment, and utility spaces
• Support cross-functional operational activities as assigned within the utility department.

Seasonal Incentives

To support employees during our peak pack season, Del Monte Foods offers select incentives for eligible seasonal workers. These incentives are designed to assist with temporary relocation and seasonal work demands and may include:

These incentives are available only during the active pack season (typically June through early October) and are subject to eligibility requirements, availability, and business needs. Incentives may be modified or discontinued at any time based on operational conditions.
