Job Title: Blow Molding Supervisor

Job Summary:

Alamance Foods, a leader in the food and beverage manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Blow Molding Supervisor to oversee our blow molding operations in Burlington, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in blow molding processes, particularly with Bekum Blow Mold machines. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality plastic containers that meet the company's standards and meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight:

• Supervise and coordinate daily blow molding operations, ensuring that all production goals and quality standards are met.
• Manage a team of blow molding operators, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize performance.
• Oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of Bekum Blow Mold machines, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

• Machine Maintenance & Optimization:

• Monitor and maintain the performance of Bekum Blow Mold machines, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and perform preventative maintenance on blow molding equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Quality Control:

• Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards by conducting regular inspections and audits.
• Work closely with the quality control team to identify and resolve any defects or non-conformities in the production process.
• Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols to maintain product consistency.

• Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improving blow molding processes, equipment utilization, and overall efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, enhance product quality, and optimize production output.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the department.

• Team Leadership & Employee Management:

• Employee Hiring: Participate in recruiting efforts by screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates to build a skilled blow molding team.
• Employee Management: Oversee day-to-day management of the team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing training and development.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment by providing leadership, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
• Ensure that all team members adhere to safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in blow molding operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience working with Bekum Blow Mold machines is required.

• Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of blow molding processes, machine setup, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Bekum Blow Mold machine operation, maintenance, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of plastic materials, mold design, and product quality requirements.

• Other Skills:

• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends, as required.
• Exposure to noise, heat, and other conditions typical of a blow molding operation.
