We are seeking a Food Preparation / Dry Powder Blending Technician to support our food manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for weighing, blending, packaging, and documenting dry powdered food products while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will also assist in guiding and supporting clients who participate in production activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify raw materials against production orders and batch sheets before production begins.
- Accurately weigh and blend dry powdered ingredients according to established formulas.
- Operate blending, packaging, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Package finished products and verify proper weights, labels, and product specifications.
- Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Conduct routine quality checks and complete required production documentation.
- Follow all company food safety, sanitation, GMP, HACCP, and quality procedures.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas according to established guidelines.
- Assist with equipment setup, product changeovers, and minor adjustments.
- Properly manage allergens and help prevent cross-contamination.
- Report equipment concerns, product issues, or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to meet daily goals.
- Provide direction and support to clients participating in production-related activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, blending, production, packaging, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and follow production orders, batch sheets, formulas, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math skills for weighing ingredients and recording production information.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial production equipment safely.
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, GMP, HACCP, and allergen control practices is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production schedules.
- Comfortable working around dust, dry powdered ingredients, spices, and food allergens.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, and masks as required.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production needs.
Work Environment
This position is based in a food manufacturing facility where employees regularly work with dry powder ingredients and food allergens. Team members must consistently follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
