EHC is seeking a Blaster for a Client in the Livingston Area

Position Overview

The Blaster is responsible for preparing surfaces for coating applications by performing abrasive blasting operations. This role ensures surfaces are properly cleaned and conditioned to meet quality standards for coating adhesion. The Blaster will safely operate blasting equipment, maintain tools and media, and adhere to all safety protocols while performing work in industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor abrasive blasting equipment.
• Prepare materials, work areas, and equipment for blasting operations.
• Perform surface preparation using blast media such as Black Beauty or Garnet.
• Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure cleanliness and quality requirements are met.
• Clean, maintain, and properly store blasting equipment, filters, PPE, and protective clothing.
• Work safely in confined spaces and other industrial environments as required.
• Maintain clear communication with team members during blasting activities.
• Follow all safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions.
• Assist with equipment inspections and routine maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of industrial abrasive blasting experience.
• Experience using Black Beauty, Garnet, or similar blast media.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces and industrial settings.
• Capable of operating blasting equipment effectively and safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and safety awareness skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders, work from scaffolding, and work at elevated heights.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection, for extended durations.
• Capable of lifting and moving materials and equipment as needed.
• Sufficient strength and stamina to perform demanding industrial tasks in various weather and environmental conditions.

Work Environment

• Industrial and manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Frequent use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, protective suits, gloves, and eye protection.
• May require work in confined spaces, elevated locations, and around heavy equipment.
