SUMMARY

Provides Biostatistics support to aid the CDC’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ). 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Conduct analysis to provide statistical methods that will aid on processes improvement. 
  • Serve as POC to assist non-technical users with data interpretation 
  • Prepares analysis plans to ensure the best statistical methods are developed and utilized
  • Present research findings to internal & external partners, and Biostatistics team members

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

  • No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Masters in Statistics or Biostatistics with 3-5 years of experience
  • Experience using statistical techniques to analyze continuous, categorical, and data such as regression analysis, regression modeling, geospatial analysis/mapping, Kaplan‐Meier survival analysis and multi‐level modeling
  • Must be proficient working with statistical software such as SUDAAN, SAS and/or R
  • Advanced statistics or epidemiology understanding or experience with one or more datasets

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Preferred knowledge of CDC/DGMQ’s programs objective and goals
  • Preferred knowledge of CDC funding development and maintenance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent level of attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Skills and experience writing project reports, research protocols and manuscripts
  • Ability to generate surveillance reports
  • Ability to develop reports, charts, or tables to contribute to publications or presentations.
  • Pursuant to U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, Cherokee Federal is now requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8th and going forward. Prospective employees will fall under this requirement and proof of vaccination will be required for on-boarding, should you be selected. Limited exemptions for religious or medical reasons will be considered.
    • TEMPORARY NOTE: On Tuesday, Dec. 7, a federal judge issued an injunction blocking President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors (EO 14042). Cherokee Federal is monitoring the court case and awaiting a final ruling. As a result of the injunction, Cherokee Federal is halting the enforcement of the mandate, however, if the injunction is lifted and the mandate remains, Cherokee Federal must reenact its vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is conducted in a climate-controlled office environment. 
  • The environment may require prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, and light lifting up to 20 lbs.
