Biomed Technician
Location: Moon Township, PA, USA - 520 Lindbergh Drive
Shift – Monday to Friday, must be available to work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7:30am-6pm. OT mandatory if required
Compensation - $26/hr
Job Summary:
A competent Biomedical Technician skilled in the diagnosis and repair of simple and complex medical devices with a primary focus in Infusion, Enteral and Respiratory devices. The Biomed Tech also possesses a strong knowledge of the operation of a biomedical branch. As a competent technical resource, he/she will be expected to mentor Associate Biomedical Technicians to improve the competency and value of our technicians. He/she will be expected to participate in business growth and productivity initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities:
Willingness to attend Manufacturer training on variety of equipment
Will also perform repairs on a wide variety of biomedical & respiratory equipment
Will stay current with new products and new technologies in the biomedical industry
Will perform PM’s, as needed
Will teach and mentor Associate Biomed Techs to improve their technical ability
Will act as liaison to our customers to solve technical problems and complaints
Will identify training needs for self
Will participate in department on call rotation when needed
Will assure that service area is clean and orderly
Will assure accurate database entry and reports
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires 1+ years of related experience
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong demonstrable technical troubleshooting ability
Experience or diverse knowledge on related medical devices within service scope of McKesson biomedical service.
Broad knowledge base of various hospital / homecare medical equipment
Excellent customer communication skills
Computer literate with an understanding of database operations
Understanding of and ability to operate specialized test equipment used on medical equipment
Working knowledge of electronics, electricity, electro-mechanical, fluidics, pulmonology, pneumatics and hydraulic theories and practices
Strong work ethic and focus on quality work
Strong work ethic and focus on quality work
Must be organized
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain focus with intermittent distractions
Strong organization and time management skills
Professionalism and a mature sense of accountability
Willing to perform other duties and tasks as directed by Biomedical leadership
