We are a commercial swimming pool construction company specializing in complex aquatic facilities including municipal pools, resort-style features, lazy rivers, and competition pools. Our projects require a high level of coordination, precision, and technical execution — and our in-house drafting and BIM capabilities are a critical part of that success.

We are seeking a BIM / AutoCAD Draftsman who is equally comfortable producing detailed 2D shop drawings and managing 3D BIM models in a fast-paced construction environment.

**Position Overview

**

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining both 2D AutoCAD shop drawings and 3D BIM models for commercial pool construction projects. You will play a key role in project coordination, attending weekly BIM coordination meetings and serving as the company’s representative in those discussions.

This position requires strong communication skills and daily collaboration with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure drawings accurately reflect field conditions and evolving project requirements.

In addition to drafting responsibilities, this role will support the estimating team with takeoffs, vendor coordination, and data organization.

**Key Responsibilities

**

**Drafting & Modeling

**

Produce detailed 2D AutoCAD shop drawings, including:

Pipe runs and system layouts

Equipment room layouts

Formwork drawings

Radii and specialty layouts

Anchor and embed layouts

As-built documentation

Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for piping systems and coordination

Update models and drawings to reflect as-built field conditions

Ensure accuracy and constructability of all drawings

**Coordination & Communication

**

Attend and actively participate in weekly BIM coordination meetings

Serve as the company’s technical representative during coordination

Communicate daily with Project Managers and Superintendents

Translate field conditions into accurate drawings and model updates

Collaborate with other trades to resolve clashes and conflicts

**Estimating Support

**

Assist the estimating department with:

Material takeoffs

Vendor and subcontractor quote requests

Data compilation for project proposals

Organize and present data in a clear, usable format for the Lead Estimator

**Requirements

**

Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting)

Strong experience with 3D BIM modeling (BIM 360 or similar platforms)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience producing construction shop drawings

Strong understanding of construction systems and coordination workflows

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

High attention to detail and accuracy

**Preferred Qualifications

**

Experience in commercial construction or mechanical/plumbing systems

Experience with aquatic or pool-related systems (highly preferred but not required)

Familiarity with coordination processes across multiple trades
