Job Overview:

Weld Instructor / Welding Technician

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Schedule: Full-Time | Must be available for day or night shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed

Pay: $25 - $35 (Based on experience)

Regal Staffing Services is currently recruiting for an experienced Weld Instructor / Welding Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is ideal for a skilled welding professional who enjoys mentoring others, improving welding processes, and ensuring quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a passion for developing welding talent.

Key Responsibilities

Welding Instructor

  • Develop and deliver hands-on and classroom training for new and existing welders.
  • Train employees on welding techniques, blueprint reading, welding symbols, Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate welder performance through practical testing and provide coaching to improve skills.
  • Conduct welder qualification and requalification testing in accordance with company standards and applicable codes.
  • Maintain training records, qualification documentation, and employee skills matrices.
  • Develop training materials, welding curriculum, and practical exercises.
  • Mentor employees to improve quality, productivity, and workplace safety.
  • Support cross-training initiatives to build a versatile and highly skilled workforce.

Welding Technician

  • Audit welding operators and welding processes to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot welding equipment and process-related issues.
  • Partner with plant leadership and production teams to improve welding performance and resolve technical concerns.
  • Train employees on WPS requirements and customer welding specifications.
  • Visually inspect welds and review NDT documentation to determine root causes of defects.
  • Perform welder testing and maintain accurate documentation of inspections, procedures, and qualifications.
  • Verify and calibrate welding equipment and measuring devices in accordance with company and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Welding Instructor, Welding Technician, Certified Welder, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to successfully pass 2G, 3G, and 4G FCAW/SMAW weld tests.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) equipment within six months of hire.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, WPS requirements, blueprint reading, welding symbols, and quality standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel, including regular trips to Longview, TX for training.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces or at heights when required.
