About the Opportunity
A well-established global automotive manufacturing organization is seeking a Bilingual HR Generalist (English / Spanish) to support its Louisville manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced plant environment, enjoys direct employee interaction, and is comfortable balancing employee relations, compliance, recruiting, and payroll support for an hourly workforce.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, approachable, and experienced supporting manufacturing or industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR contact for hourly employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, attendance, and employee concerns
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly manufacturing and operations positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination, offers, and onboarding
- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding for plant employees
- Support employee relations matters including coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, attendance management, and documentation
- Assist with hourly payroll processing, timekeeping review, attendance tracking, and payroll discrepancy resolution
- Partner with supervisors and operations leadership to ensure payroll accuracy and timely employee issue resolution
- Support benefits administration, leave management, workers’ compensation coordination, and employee questions
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
- Track workforce metrics including attendance, turnover, headcount, and hiring activity
- Coordinate training initiatives including compliance, safety, and employee development programs
- Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, and personnel documentation
- Support employee engagement initiatives, communication efforts, retention programs, and culture-building activities
- Provide translation/interpreter support for Spanish-speaking employees as needed
- Assist with HR process improvements, audits, and special projects
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- Experience supporting an hourly manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or distribution workforce
- Experience with hourly payroll processing, timekeeping systems, and attendance management
- Knowledge of employment law including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, workers’ compensation, and general HR compliance
- Experience handling employee relations issues and workplace investigations
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems
Preferred:
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- Experience in high-volume hourly recruiting
- Familiarity with Kronos, UKG, ADP, or similar payroll/timekeeping systems
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification
