Job Overview:

Job Summary:

  • Plan, manage, and enforce the sales support process from the onset of a bid to the creation of the proposal and solution. 
  • Develop/lead a team of individuals supporting ERS’ estimating needs.
  • Participate in RFP bid analysis and bid creation. This includes thorough specification review and performing takeoffs from electrical one-line drawings, submittals, and equipment lists
  • Participate in scope reviews and pre-bid meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent ERS and the Bid Center to key stakeholders (up to the executive level, both internal and external)
  • Create quality control processes to ensure that the sales strategy used to create the proposals are accurate and profitably estimated.
  • Support the design process to ensure our high standard and on time delivery
  • Identify and resolve issues and manage the bid risks including the development of contingency plans.
  • Manage and develop relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Produce management reports to highlight progress on each bid.
  • Undertake technical review and compliance checks
  • Develop innovative and creative design solutions.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Education & Certifications:  Please note minimum and preferred requirements for education.  This includes degree, specializations and certifications. 

 

  • Graduate engineer (BSEE/BSME) and 3-4 experience in estimating electrical construction projects; OR
  • Graduate of electrical technical school or equivalent, and five years of similar work; OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and ten years of similar work.

 

Requirements:  Please list all experience required to perform this job.   You may note some requirements as preferred. 

 

  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, some overnight travel to cover sales territory. 
  • Expertise on electrical one-line diagrams and electrical construction specifications
  • Direct experience estimating electrical power projects and reviewing electrical specifications
  • Experience leading teams, preferably technical in nature
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk and hear.  Required to sit and work at computer.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Conduct walk-through of construction sites and work in and around electrical equipment.
