Job Description

The BI Reporting Anayst is responsible for supporting reporting and analytics solutions for Sovos Brands. The role requires full life cycle report development from requirement gathering, development, testing and implementation. The primary focus will be on our operational reports utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to support various departments with business-critical data in a timely manner. The individual will also maintain the ongoing reporting inventory, resolve issues, recommend improvements, manage the service requests, and monitor jobs and report subscriptions. The ideal candidate will be capable of quickly understanding business processes, work collaboratively across all business processes and departments, and communicate effectively to all stakeholders.

Job responsibilities:

• Analyze new report requests and existing report enhancement requests to obtain requirements and identify level of effort.
• Work with the team to discuss request prioritization and identifying the appropriate Reporting and Analytics solutions to meet the requirements
• Develop, test, and implement operational reports utilizing T-SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and source control adhering to best practices
• Validate report functionality with internal staff and/or business users
• Write ad-hoc queries as needed
• Manage existing reports and report subscriptions
• Resolve reporting errors and escalate the issues when appropriate
• Monitors the Sovos IT ticketing system for any reporting and analytics support related issues
• Monitor daily SQL jobs and escalate when appropriate
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Sovos Reporting solutions. Provides ongoing training for existing and new Reporting and Analytics users.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B. S. or B. A.) in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business or equivalent
• 2-3 years proficiency with report development in MS SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 (SSRS) and newer
• 2-3 years of MS SQL Server database design and development (i.e., stored procedures, views, T-SQL)
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling and data warehouse design concept
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, specifically power pivot functionality
• Strong analytical skills, attention to details and focus on continuous improvement
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and to self-manage deliverables, meetings, and information gathering
• Team player
• Excellent communication skills – able to present options and solutions in a way that can easily be understood by business users

Preferred Qualifications:

• Development experience with SSIS, SSAS or Power BI is a plus

The targeted budget for this position is $60-$75K per year. This compensation budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.
