Black Book’s Data Science and Analytics team works to solve our customer’s most pressing challenges by enabling them to harness the power of data for insightful decisions. The position represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a high growth team, driving innovative, and assist in developing next generation data solutions in automotive industry.

In this hand’s-on position, the BI Developer / Analyst will work very closely with data science and automotive analytics team to create reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions which are focused on specific auto industry questions for Black Book customers and internal use. This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience of Python, SQL, and other languages.  Strong analytic skills for data analysis and translating business requirements into technical data requirements are needed to develop solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the automotive analytics team to ensure understanding of automotive data
  • Defines analytic strategies to meet the demands of business requirements
  • Defines the technical requirements of the analytic solutions
  • Defines the data requirements of the analytic solution
  • Develop BI prototypes in collaboration with Product teams for solution validation

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Science in computer science, data science or related area of study
  • 5+ years building BI solution using Tableau, SpotFire, or equivalent BI platforms
  • 5+ years use of Python for large-scale data analysis
  • Expert use of SQL and relational databases
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in automotive industry
  • Experience in design and implementation of ETL framework using Talend
