Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Benefits Financial Analyst is responsible for the reporting, analysis, and modeling of the organization’s benefit programs, competitive assessments, and compliance requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Extract data from the data warehouse and Workday for “in the moment” reporting and analysis.
  • Measure and monitor Bass Pro Family Health Center and Pharmacy utilization and financial
  • Understand, track and submit data requirements to ensure legal compliance requirements with federal, state, and local regulations including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Work with the Benefits & Wellbeing leadership team to define measurable KPI’s tied to strategic initiatives, and update/monitor progress throughout the year.
  • Support weekly bill payments and forecasting in coordination with our carriers and internal accounting, finance, and treasury teams.
  • Assessing carrier financial data against internal budget and financial forecasting.
  • Conduct market research and analyze benefit data to benchmarks.
  • Participate in Benefits Surveys.
  • Support the creation and rollout of a Total Rewards statement.
  • Provide data insights post Open Enrollment to analyze enrollment trends and financial impact.
  • Support evaluation and payout of any applicable Benefits & Wellbeing rewards program and impact on overall plan experience.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in _HR, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related area
  • Certificate(s) or License(s):
  • Years of experience: _minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits AND advanced analytics.
  • Experience in Workday backend processes and Qlik preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel and Qlik, PowerBI, or related).
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Deep understanding of employee benefits plans to include health insurance, retirement plans, and disability coverage.
  • Must have experience demonstrating critical thinking skills, presentation skills, data analytics and report writing.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as effective interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (mainly Excel and PowerPoint).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly sits, and does computer work.

Occasionally walks, and stands.

Seldom/Never lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
