About the role

Primary Purpose: Blending operators run the mixing and packaging equipment of the blend lines. Operators are responsible for the quality and food safety of the product while also maintaining line efficiencies.

$18 + .50 shift differential
2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm
Monday - Friday
Over time occasionally

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret production schedule in chronological order to determine next to process order to run.
  2. Scan raw materials into SAP against PI sheet to ensure correct ingredients are being used for specific formula.
  3. Execute transactions in Buehler operating system to keep line running and troubleshoot issues.
  4. Cut open raw material bags and dump ingredients into blender following dump SOPs.
  5. Assist in changeovers/cleanouts.
  6. Perform daily food safety checks per SOPs and document results.
  7. Escalate any food safety concerns to management.
  8. Operate Supersack lift to utilize MAC system on production line. .
  9. Validate bag weight on scale to synchronize with production schedule/current process order.
  10. Operate packing carousel to maximize line efficiency.
  11. Enter label date into SAP and audit final packaging label against production schedule.
  12. Complete bi-hourly metal detector checks against SOP, properly documents results in SAP.
  13. Send product samples to the lab per batch and as needed.
  14. Maintain work area in a clean and safe manner.
  15. Maintain GMPS, PPE, and 5S standards.
  16. Reports all Accidents and Near-misses immediately.
  17. Other duties and projects as assigned.

Key responsibilities

Experience:

  1. 2 years previous manufacturing experience
  2. Organizational & excellent communication skills.
  3. Basic computer experience
  4. Ability to read, write and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding of the terminology of the job.
  5. Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions.

Qualifications and skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Previous work experience within a food manufacturing and distribution environment.
  2. Previous experience using SAP
  3. Previous experience operating a sit-down fork lift
  4. Previous experience with scanners/RF guns.
