Job Overview:

 

JOB TITLE: Blending/Batching Technician   

EMPLOYER: Tessemaes LLC

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

HOURLY RATE: $18.00/hr - $22.00/hr

 

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for mixing raw materials to safely and reliably produce and package quality food; maintaining general sanitation, computer entry and transactions in our ERP system, WMS, and accurately completing and maintaining documentation.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists Blending Supervisor in the creation of raw materials, mixes and processes raw materials into finished goods.
  • Helps ensure hourly production quotas are met with regard to product prepped and batch.
  • Ensures every product meets/exceeds product quality standards.
  • Safely operates a forklift and other mechanical equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Performs department sanitation responsibilities daily in a manner which promotes and ensures food safety.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and responds to process, product, and equipment deviations.
  • Processes ERP transactions uses WMS accurately, completes, and maintains process documentation.
  • Performs any other work as assigned by Blending Supervisor.

SQF/ Food Safety Responsibilities: 

  •   Assures compliance with all SQF Procedure requirements.
  •   Assures compliance with all GMP requirements including personal protective clothing. 
  •   Assures all products are manufactured in a safe, quality manner.
  •   Assures compliance with all customer specifications.
  •   Promotes and enforces compliance with all employees.
  •   Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required:  Ability to obtain Forklift Certification.
  • Other skills required: 
    1. 2 years manufacturing experience 
    2. Food industry experience.
    3. Ability to work independently when necessary.
    4. Ability to work overtime.
    5. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
    6. Ability to use a computer and navigate basic programs (i.e. Word, Excel).
    7. Excellent communication, both written and verbal. 
    8. Ability to follow documented processes, i.e. SOPs.
    9. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and organization skills.
    10. Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
    11. Team player with ability to contribute to ideas for continuous improvement.
    12. Strong problem solving and decision-making ability.
    13. WMS experience preferred.
    14. Experience in a food processing facility preferred.
    15. Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, and HACCP preferred.
