Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Manufacturing / Machine Operator to support the production of specialized industrial components. This position involves operating automated, semi-automated, and mechanical equipment while maintaining established quality, safety, and production standards.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with machinery, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys hands-on production work in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated, semi-automated, and mechanical production equipment.
- Use go/no-go gauges and other measuring tools to inspect material for straightness and quality.
- Operate a hydraulic press to straighten material to required specifications.
- Operate automated and semi-automated grinding equipment.
- Inspect products using job-specific gauges and quality standards.
- Operate a laser engraver to properly mark finished products.
- Package and box completed products.
- Record completed work and production activity in an ERP system using a computer or tablet.
- Complete required inspection, maintenance, inventory, and safety documentation.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing standards.
- Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to achieve production and quality goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Ability to pass a basic mechanical aptitude assessment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, machine operation, or mechanical environment preferred.
- Experience operating mechanical equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to perform basic math and measurements.
- Ability to read manufacturing paperwork, drawings, diagrams, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and product quality.
- Comfortable working with automated and semi-automated equipment, mechanical tools, and powered hand tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Comfortable performing repetitive production work and following established processes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable and safety-focused.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing/plant environment and requires regular standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and interaction with production equipment.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Overtime may be required based on production needs, including weekday and weekend hours.
