Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: 

Ensures the safe operation of an automatic vertical band saw. Cuts steel stock to correct length and measurements. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: 

• Reads and interprets basic blueprints.
• Completes daily stock inventory reports
• Performs basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment.
• Assures compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures.
• Maintains equipment and ensures a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Operates overhead crane and use of forklift. 

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Required Knowledge & Experience:

1-3 years of experience with band saw preferred

Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, tape measure, methods and techniques used

in safe band saw operation

Lock-out/Tag-out procedures

Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to prioritize, schedule and review work

Must have basic ability to read, analyze, and interpret fabrication drawings 

Must have ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, and various layout tools

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

This job may require lifting of up to 75 pounds continuously.
