Job Overview:


Keller Management Services, LLC is the parent company of leading specialty construction companies across North America. We are seeking a Backup and Storage Administrator based in our corporate headquarters in Hanover, MD.


Position DescriptionResponsible for the management of complete backup and recovery of enterprise data. This role is for a technical team lead supporting primarily Rubrik and Veritas NSP products. Candidates should have the ability to drive best practices, innovation, and process improvements in an Azure, M365, and on-premises hybrid environment. These improvements would increase efficiencies and lower costs for the organization. This includes management of backup protection and data retention policies using products such as Rubrik and Veritas NSP. It also involves configuring system components, on-going maintenance, restoration of backups, and addressing backup issues 24x7. Candidates will be the primary technical lead to manage the infrastructure backup and restoration of mission critical data and will coordinate with other server, storage, and network teams when necessary.


This position will also be required to complete periodic reports relating to backup protection. Our organization has a growing need to fulfill data compliance requirements that involves providing evidence that backup and disaster recovery capabilities exist, have been regularly tested, and verified.  Candidates will work with our Information Assurance Manager on ensuring backup protection practices comply with regional legal obligations, data sovereignty, and data privacy.


Job Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration, management of backup protection server software and associated components
  • Understanding of network routing and firewall requirements to ensure our backups are using our dedicated backup infrastructure
  • Develop and implement automated solutions to support operational and SLA objectives
  • Understanding of data replication between locations
  • Respond quickly and effectively to backup issues and outages
  • Coordinate with infrastructure team to facilitate on-premises datacenter or Azure regional disaster recovery along with scheduled DR testing
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Provide recommendations to improve design and reduce cost
  • Experience in storage data replication techniques for any storage subsystems
  • Experience with any of the storage replication techniques
  • Has experience working in a large storage environment with formal change management practices
  • Experience with Rubrik and Veritas NSP preferred
  • Experience with Azure network and firewall required
  • Must be detail-oriented with good organization skills
  • Deep technical problem isolation and resolution capability



Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • 5+ years hands-on experience with the management of enterprise class data protection infrastructures
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in Windows, VMware, SQL, NAS, Networking NFS, SMB, Agent based backup and recovery
  • Experience on backup software technology like Rubrik and Veritas NSP
  • Experience on backup recovery support for different enterprise backup solutions
  • Experience in performing backup data migration tasks
  • Experience in scheduling, configuring, and verifying backup jobs
