SUMMARY:
Work with Team Lead learning all duties of Team Lead position. Examples: responsible for Quality, Safety, Productivity and maintaining production schedules for a defined segment of the manufacturing operation. Leads and gives direction to others. Assists in motivating team members to meet or exceed production standards.
Team Lead Back-up will fill in as Business needs and in the absence of Team Lead.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Promotes Betco’s safety philosophy and ensures all safety procedures are followed based on the companies written Safety Management Program.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Responsible for the safety and accountability of Team Members in emergency situations.
- Conducts weekly/monthly safety reviews with Team Members.
- Works with site safety manager to ensure safety training is completed as required.
- Monitors production for quality and efficiency. Ensures processes and standards are being followed appropriately. Proactively identifies and addresses process and quality issues.
- Follows up on any issues identified as out of specification and initiates corrective actions to identify root cause and prevent reoccurrence.
- Reviews the Customer Situations with the appropriate team members and initiates corrective actions to identify root cause and prevent reoccurrence.
- Produces the daily production schedule and coordinates all aspects of completing the schedule in a safe, clean productive manner.
- Responsible for hitting productivity targets for assigned area(s).
- Releases work orders to the production floor daily.
- Reviews and sets ROP/ROQ levels quarterly for finished goods and mix.
- Plans capacity for assigned area(s) ensuring adequate resources to support production demand.
- Studies and works with team members to standardize procedures to improve efficiencies and minimize downtime.
- Monitors labor hours in accordance with set labor budgets to minimize overtime.
- Participates in required training for job function as identified in training matrix.
- Required to take annual refresher training as indicated by regulations and company policy.
- Coordinates training of team members and cross training to ensure adequate back up exists for all job functions to insure “3 Deep” training matrix is fulfilled.
- Training can be conducted in multiple ways such as: On the Job Training, Classroom, Computer, Seminars, etc
- Provides written and verbal instructions as required.
- Coordinates disciplinary actions with H.R. in accordance with Team Member Manual.
- Monitors key measures as identified or developed for area of responsibility and takes corrective action as needed to achieve goals.
- Maintains cohesive work environment among team members and resolves issues in a timely fashion.
- Notifies Maintenance Manager of the need to repair equipment or facilities.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
5 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment or associates degree in related field with hands-on experience.
Supervisor experience is a plus
REQUIRED SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to move about the production facilities with no limitations.
Capable of lifting 50 lbs. consistently
